All too often residents of nursing homes are mentally, sexually or physically abused. Many times the abuse goes unreported. Sadly, many of the victims are mentally or physically disabled and have no way of fighting back.
Signs of Nursing Home Abuse include, but are not limited to:
1. Sudden loss of appetite;
2. Sudden changes in behavior;
3. Unexplained bruises, cuts, burns, fractures;
4. Injuries requiring emergency medical treatment;
5. Rapid weight loss or weight gain;
6. Sexually transmitted disease;
7. Loss of possessions; and
8. Heavily medicated or sedated.
