Children are the most valuable assets in a divorce. One of the biggest conflicts in a divorce is deciding who gets custody of the children and how visitation will be determined. Knowing that you will not be living with your children all of the time is terrifying.

Toyota Civil Suits

After all the fuss about Toyota over the past six months, lawsuits against the giant car manufacturer have been in the making. The trial is set to begin on May 13th before Judge James Selna in California. This trial is set to be huge, with Toyota facing a potential civil liability of $10 billion. In addition, there have been claims for full refunds to U.S. owners of Toyotas. This has all stemmed from the troubles Toyota has had with faulty vehicles.

The vehicles had problems with the car floor mats that do not fit, and gas pedals that stick, causing the vehicles engine to unintentionally accelerate. Toyota faces over a hundred consumer fraud class actions and personal injury lawsuits. It is important to understand when you have a car accident that consulting a good personal injury lawyer is the key difference in settling a case. South Carolina has a high accident rate, so hiring a good lawyer can prove crucial in your personal injury case. Russell Mace is a successful lawyer in Myrtle Beach that has dealt with hundreds of personal injury cases.

Immigration Reform in the US

With the Obama government looking into immigration reform, many have been left with questions as to what exactly it involves. There is an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants currently in the United States, and the reform looks at offering these people a path to citizenship. Many Americans are supporting the new reforms, as long as they come with strict rules. These rules include passing a background check, paying fines and having a job. Other guidelines may include being in the United States for at least five years, paying a fine for entering illegally and be required to learn English. Some of these may be hard to monitor, especially the five years of residence. This would represent a major change to immigration in the United States, with many people becoming eligible for Permanent Residency or Citizenship.

The next step would be for them to consult a good immigration lawyer. An immigration lawyer would help them to make it through the hurdles that would be put up by the United States Customs and Immigration Service. A South Carolina Immigration Attorney will have a thorough understanding of what is needed to become a Citizen. In Myrtle Beach and Charleston, immigration lawyer Nicole Mace has helped many clients gain permanent residency and citizenship in the United States.

The cost of taking care of a loved one who has suffered a traumatic brain injury can be in the millions of dollars. It is estimated that over a lifetime, it can cost anywhere from $600,000 to $1,875,000 to care for a survivor of severe TBI.

Immigration without a Birth Certificate

Immigrating without a birth certificate

Immigration law is a tricky thing, and often the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service can provide you with hoops to jump through. One recent client was a foreign national, but had lost his birth certificate in World War II. It would be no problem if he could get a replacement; it just happens that the village he is from had their records department destroyed. To gain permanent residency it is very important you have your birth certificate; it helps the USCIS verify your origins.

It was lucky he went to see a qualified immigration lawyer, as trying to navigate around the maze of obstacles put up by the USCIS would have been nigh on impossible alone. Through knowledge of Immigration Law, Nicole Mace was able to file the application without a birth certificate. This would be very hard for an individual to do on their own.
Through a strong understanding of immigration law, the immigration lawyer can help the client gain permanent residency or citizenship. Immigration law is very complex and should only be handled by those who know what they are doing. Rarely is a case straight-forward. They often involve a criminal record, family situations and extraordinary circumstances.

United States Immigration

Immigrating to the United States

Many foreign nationals visit the South Carolina area for work and play and do not want to leave. When it comes to making their stay permanent, they consult a good immigration lawyer to obtain a green card. There are many delicate factors in an immigration application, which is why you should consult a good immigration lawyer.

The process for gaining a green card is lengthy and drawn out and having a good immigration lawyer on your side is vital. An immigration attorney will review your case and submit your application on your behalf, greatly increasing your chances of success. If you have anything on your criminal record it can pose some challenges to an application for permanent residency, or green card. A good immigration lawyer can find different ways to handle the situation and get you on your way to becoming a legal citizen.

Many people find a partner in the USA and get married. Once married you are eligible to become a permanent resident, and have a three-year wait before being able to apply for Naturalization (Citizenship). Having permanent residency allows you to work and live in the United States.
